Supporting Education at home
Community Schools
near Wakitaka Village
We have 31 kids enrolled in the following schools: Cornerstone Primary School, St. Paul School, and Wakitaka Primary School all in or near Wakitaka Village. The majority of these sponsored children are younger and live with single mothers, who struggle to provide food, much less pay for school fees. Now these children will have the opportunity to grow scholastically while remaining in the primary care of their mothers.
Education and Nourishment
At these local schools, children are equipped academically, spiritually, and physically. Cornerstone's school motto is "Education is light" and they aim to care for, educate, instill good morals, and create God-fearing citizens. IKOOVA sponsored children are served breakfast and lunch, thus lessening the financial burden on their families to feed them.
Accountability and Followup
IKOOVA's social workers meet regularly with students, parents, and school staff to ensure the children's educational progress. Children needing additional tutoring and encouragement are followed up with regularly. Assessment exams are executed on a quarterly basis.
Debate Team
IKOOVA social workers began a compulsory debate team with students to further develop their communication, analytical skills, and confidence levels.
