Core Values

Faith, Hope, Love

As members of IKOOVA Ministries, we are committed to representing Christ with the following Core Values:

Love

Love others when it is easy, but especially when it is difficult.

John 15:12 "My command is this: love each other as I have loved you."

1 John 4:16 "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." 

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Grace

Giving people more than we think they deserve. Just as God’s grace was sufficient for the Apostle Paul, it is sufficient for us. God gives us Grace to overcome our weaknesses when we don’t deserve it. We need to share this grace with others.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9  “Three times I (Paul) pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Faith

We must believe that God will provide the means to meet His ends. Faith can move mountains.

Matthew 21:21  “Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”

Prayer

We must be in communication with God both in speaking to Him and listening to His voice.

James 5:16  “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

1 John 5:14  “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

Psalms 5:3  “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”

John 10:2-4  “The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.  The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”

Hope

God is always present regardless of the circumstances.

Psalm 9:18  “But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”

Accountability

Holding one other accountable in love and helping each other stay on track.

Proverbs 27:23  “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds”

Integrity

We must be men and women of our word, always reliable with our words and actions.

Proverbs 12:22  “The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”

Philippians 4:8  “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Compassion

Having a heart for those we serve.

Ephesians 4:32  “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

1 Peter 3:8  “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”

Service

Putting the needs of others above of our own.

Hebrews 6:10  “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

Galatians 5:13  “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Balance

God, family, ministry, in this order. We are better able to serve others if our priorities are right.

Matthew 6:33-34  “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
